This oddly marked bit of land seems to be the only area in all of Drachell that is heavily concentrated with Dark Fay. With that said, compared to other such shrine, this is a mere hole in the ground. Strange plants and an eerie atmosphere cloud this area. Nothing but a small golden dish sits within the clearly, as if it is demanding something from anyone who wishes to enter. Due to the state of the shrine, it is clear that whomever lives here isn't very popular among the local population.
Rugged Skull Caves
Long have the Rugged Skull Goblins lived on these lands and within these caves. Until recently, they have kept to themselves and have caused little problems to the civilized world. They hunt within the Dead Wood Forest and prefer to not be disturbed. It wasn't until the Snowfist Goblins walked on their territory did the Rugged Skull Goblins become active and aggressive. Now, they are determined to fight for their home, engaged in combat whenever possible with the Snowfist Goblins.
A small, hastily dug cave within the edge of the Abardean Mountain range. This cave is home to the Snowfist Goblins who came down from the Abardean area in search of new lands to conquer. These goblins are now locked within a battle for territory with the original owners, the Rugged Skull Goblins.
Ever since the end of the Warring Age, these caves have been home to the Cleansing Ritual. Guarded by the Riddlers, accessing the Ritual area is not an easy task. Deep within the caves, the shamans involved in the earliest of the Cleansing Rituals set up the room for those to come. To perform the ritual a High Summoner is chosen by election which spans through all of the Shaman Clans. The elected person is to then travel deep into the Ancient Cave to retrieve the High Summoner's Staff, which is passed down from Ritual to Ritual and is only ever held by a High Summoner. From there, the Elemental Lord's Crystals are gathered and brought into the cave and placed within the appropriate areas. The Fairy Orb is place atop of the staff in the middle of the room. Focusing on the orb itself, the High Summoner is said to invoke the power of the Elemental Lord's out of their Crystals and into the orb, causing a massive eruption of Fay Energy that surrounds the province of Drachell in a barrier, keeping the evil from the outside 'world' away. Or atleast, that is how the story is told today...
Now half seculded from the rest of Drachell, this area has two polar opposite terrains. The Dead Wood Forest, home to a Brotherhood of Twilight base, mountain access to Abardean and home to two Goblin Caves. The Everlush, which is the secluded portion of the Diverse Expanse is home to Synkale's Shrin and the Ritual Caves.
Drachell - The Diverse Expanse
The Deathroot Tree
One of the several fabled trees in Valcarta, the Deathroot Tree is known for consuming lost souls that wonder too close to it. Growing strong and tall was easy for such a species as Synkale, who is presumed to live close by, is in charge of all the souls that leave the bodies of mortals. These souls then travel from said body towards her shrine where she converts their energy into a new soul for someone else to have. This process has acted like a buffet for the Deathroot Tree. This tree has it's name for a reason however and is known for lashing out at those who seek to do it harm with deadly force. It's vines and roots are capable of ensnaring and consuming any known beast within Drachell and perhaps even Valcarta. Not many dare get too close...
