The Northern Island is located at the Northern most point of Drachell and contains 3 small towns, Orm, Malvern and Renkar. Although away from the rest of Drachell, the war between the Brotherhood of Twilight and the Sleemon Empire has slowly began to creep it's way up to effects the farmers that reside on this island.
Drachell - The Northern Island
The Abardean Mountains is the massive mountain range that used to act as the province line between Drachell and Abardean. Ever since the first Cleansing Ritual, this mountain range has been the only thing, at least in the eyes of some, that kept the Yeti-Men of Abardean from continuing their conquest. Over the last 1500 years, it has been said that there has been a single old man, digging his way through the mountainside. Perhaps this new passage is now usable?
Named strictly for the fact that this mountain, despite being just within the borders of the snowy lands of Abardean, has never had snow settle atop of it. This is due to the heat that the mountain is almost always giving of because it is, in fact, a volcano. However, this volcano has never been known to erupt or give any signs that is anything but a mountain. If volcanic activity were to ever occur from this mountain, it is likely it would have to be forced from some secondary force.
Before the creation of the tunnel through the Abardean Mountains, the Icy Canal was the only way to access the Abardean Province from the Eastern side of the world. With that said, even though this was the case, it was still seldomly used. Partially frozen over, with strange rapids and the rumor of an ancient sea creaturing making this area it's home, it wasn't anyones idea of a good place to sail, for any reason at all.
Frostwind Forest + Diamond Dust Peaks
The Diamond Dust Peaks are by far the most massive mountain range within the province, connecting from the Abardean Mountains and spanning over the waterways that come from the Icy Canal all the way over to Winter's Hold. The Diamond Dust Peaks, named by the Frostwind Clan in honor of Lady Shiva, are known to be incredibly high and incredibly cold. Since the fall of the Frostwind Clan, not many people have dared brave the uninhabited mountainside, leaving it open for all sorts of creatures to call it home.
Within the Diamond Dust Peaks rests a thick, snowy forest, where the Frostwind Clan had their primary home. The Frostwind Forest are home to a small village, the primary village of the Clan along with accessible to the Lowerlands of Abardean, which haven't been accessed in known history due to the thick ice that it would take to break through to be able to access. It is rumored that beings live beneath this ice, but not one has ever seen or heard from them. The Frostwind Forest itself was used as a training ground for Frostwind youth, who were sent at a young age to spend some time, alone within the Forest to prove that their were in tune with the Ice Fay. Before the fall of the Clan, Shiva and her Champion were investigating why a large majority of the children were not returning, but never found the cause.
This strange, secluded cave, is said to be home to an ancient Yeti-Men artifact that they have stashed there for safe keeping, assuming that no one is capable of flying to it. Apparently there is a harsh mountainous pass that the Yeti-Men use to access this area, but no one has been able to find it, not even the most seasoned of trackers.
This fortress is currently the home of the Yeti-Men who took down the Frostwind Clan many years ago. They took a rare, powerful, naturally occurring material known as Diamond Ice and built this massive fortress to be inpenatrable. There is only one access route into the keep aside from the Drawbridge at the front, which is well hidden on the Western wall. This route was made in case of something disastrous befalling the castle so that the inhabitants could make a quick escape. This castle was built blocking the Frostwind Passage, which was the only route leading to the Shrine where Shiva's Crystal was held.
